Management Development

This three-day program offers information on what
new managers need to understand in the areas of finance, human
resources, administration, information management, and security.
It is designed to assist new managers in becoming familiar with
practices, policies, and information specific to being a manager in
the APS.

This well regarded, customized program delivered in partnership with the University of Alberta helps managers or those aspiring to be
managers, develop their management and leadership competencies.
Open to managers, technical, professional and senior administrative employees, the MDP offers focused learning on
current and relevant issues.
The program consists of twenty modules ranging from one to five days in
length.

For over 20 years, this customized program, delivered in partnership with the University of Alberta, has
assisted senior and executive managers enhance their leadership
skills. Open to senior managers, executive managers, and
senior officials, this program provides the opportunity to learn
from colleagues and develop networks vital for success in a changing
environment. The program is made up of seventeen modules, from
two to five days in length.

This comprehensive strategic approach to leadership
development and leadership continuity recognizes that senior leaders
are an important corporate resource. Major components of this
initiative include the Executive and Senior Manager Mobility
Program, Executive Assessment Services, Competency Sessions,
Executive Orientation, Top Priorities Information Sessions, and
Deputy Minister Quarterly Forums.
